Nursing Overview:
The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) recognizes the Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing as the critical first step for a career in professional nursing and the minimum educational requirement for professional nursing practice. While graduates begin practice as an RN with an associate degree or diploma, the BSN degree is a preferred requirement for nurses seeking supervisory, management and employment opportunities in many health care settings.
In order to meet the complex demands of today’s patient care, hospital nurse executives are indicating a desire for the majority of their staff nurses to be prepared at the baccalaureate level. In fact, the words “BSN preferred” are appearing more frequently in classified ads for registered nurses nationwide.
About the Program:
NAU’s Online RN to BSN program is designed for working RNs with an associate degree or diploma certificate who desire to achieve a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
This program offers a flexible and practical way for RNs to expand their knowledge and prepare for leadership positions in a variety of health care settings. The leadership roles may include teaching, research, consulting, office management in a clinic, project management in a hospital environment, or wellness programs in the industry. It also provides the skills and credentials necessary to pursue graduate education. |
